Lewis Gambill
Division Chair
Before coming to ÒÁÈ˾þà in 2013, I taught at universities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania. I have been teaching for over twenty years and still love it as much today as I did the first day I started teaching in 1990.
Prior to entering the education profession, I worked 9 years at a "Kroger Sav-On" grocery store in North Carolina. My experiences working in retail taught me a great deal about patience.
As for my teaching experience, I was an elementary teacher in Wilmington, North Carolina, where I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. After leaving the elementary education profession, I became a professor of early childhood/elementary education.
I received my B.A. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, a M.A. degree in Educational Leadership from New Mexico State University, and received my Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.
Having only taught primarily in the South prior to 2009, it has been an adjustment living in NM. I love living here and am so very proud to call Gallup my home!
