April 20, 2020 - Our neighbors, families, colleagues, and students living within the Navajo Nation continue to be among those hardest hit by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic—with the Navajo Nation seeing the third highest infection rate in the country just behind New York and New Jersey. As of today, the Navajo Nation had 1,197 positive cases. In his State of the Nation address this afternoon on Facebook, President Jonathan Nez said that the nation has done a good job on testing with over 6,579 individuals tested. President Nez predicted that the nation might see the virus peak in mid to late May and also mandated that all individuals wear face masks when in public.


This morning, NBC’s Today Show raised nationwide awareness that the pandemic is having on the Navajo Nation in their (content and video).


In a bit of good news, the FCC recently granted the Navajo Nation temporary spectrum access to meet increased wireless broadband needs during this pandemic. Read the .
